Salthouse Catering's Response to COVID 19: New Health and Safety Standards

Salthouse Catering is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, clients and guests. We are practicing heightened food safety, sanitation and personal hygiene in our daily operations and for offsite event execution. We are creatively considering all aspects of our food service from menu planning and preparation to presentation and service with the wellbeing of our guests at the forefront of our practices.

Salthouse Catering has been busy gearing up to get back to work in a new way! We have implemented new operating procedures considering the recent Coronavirus outbreak to protect our team and event guests. As we get back to work and ready ourselves to resume hosting events, we want you to know that we are committed to protecting and preserving the health and safety of our employees, clients and guests both at our kitchen (office and warehouse) and at off premise events.

We are following guidelines for reopening as given by The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) and Governor McMaster as of May 1 st , 2020. We have been closely monitoring information from the CDC as well as the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and have created new protocol for our daily operations to heighten our food handling safety, sanitation and personal hygiene practices for all of our staff members. While our standards for all of this has always been high, we’re taking extra precautions to keep people well and safe. Our key employees have been ServSafe and Ecolab trained for best practices in defense of Covid 19.

Certain menu items have been modified to be presented in the most food-safe way and with the least amount of contact possible. Staffing ratios will be adjusted to ensure we can provide the service our guests expect while keeping their health and safety in mind.

We’re excited to launch a new selection of Gourmet to Go items that will be available for contact free delivery or curbside pickup with online ordering available. The menu features a good variety of ready to eat, chef prepared appetizers, entrees, side items, sweets and pantry staples to bring some of our favorite menu items from Salthouse to your house.
