JENNY SANFORD’S HAPPILY EVER AFTER
After a short engagement and with their families by their sides, Jenny Sanford, the Former First Lady of South Carolina, and Andy McKay said their ‘I dos’ in a relaxed service on a friend’s dock on Sullivan’s Island. In her happily ever after ceremony, Jenny wore an ivory and champagne, hi-low dress purchased from Nordstrom, while the bride and groom dazzled in rings from Charleston’s own Croghan’s Jewel Box. Jenny’s four sons served as her “Bridal Men of Honor” while Andy’s children and their respective spouses were the “Groomsmen and Women.”
After a beautiful and intimate dockside ceremony, the festivities continued inside. Assorted hors d’oeuvres were passed during the cocktail hour including mini shrimp and grit cakes, and duck confit canapés, while a farm table was loaded with local vegetables, berries, nuts, olives, cured meats, and smoked salmon. Dinner stations included local pan-seared mahi-mahi with seasonal succotash and braised short rib with mushrooms as well as fried chicken biscuits with creamy mac and cheese.
