One of our favorite recent weddings was that of Alice Houston and Brock Miles, located at The Arsenal in Beaufort, SC. Salthouse is so lucky to have such strong relationships with wedding planners both near and far.

For this wedding we collaborated with Katie Huebel from Weddings Elegantly Designed to create a memorable event for this Augusta, Georgia family.

275 people were greeted by servers passing hors d’oevres in the historic fort that played a role in both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

Some of the magnificent hors d’oevres that the guest had upon arrival included parmesan tomato pie tarlet, beef tenderloin biscuits, and curried chicken canapé. Shortly after that there were four stations for appetizers, all chef attended. The Salthouse mac n cheese, the grilled fish tacos with jicama and pear slaw, and the Salthouse smoked salmon were all a huge it.

Overall, all of these small plates added up to a delicious and light meal that allowed the guests to snack on gourmet food while at the same time never having to stop dancing! The décor fit the space perfectly with rustic bars, long wooden pews and lighting to enhance the magic of the venue. WED’s floral team created stunning centerpieces for the food stations and tables.

At the end of the night Salthouse passed around some late night munchies that included French fry cones with garlic aioli and a friend chicken biscuit smothered in bourbon brown sugar butter.

This Beaufort wedding was a major success, filled with the beauty of collaboration. Salthouse is thrilled that we got to be a part of such a wonderful wedding!
