HOLIDAY JAMS
Happy New Year, y’all!
I hope this post finds everyone enjoying the first few weeks of 2015! The start of a new year signifies a clean slate, a fresh start spearheaded by resolutions and opportunities; it gives you a chance to push personal boundaries, take on novel challenges, and begin anew. As the dust clears and things start to settle, we here at Salthouse can’t help but smile at the upcoming year.
As someone who enjoys the holiday season, I’m sad to see it go; it’s the time of year that brings out the spirit of giving. Here’s our New Year’s challenge to you: keep this notion going. Make it a goal of yours to continue giving in whatever capacity you see fit for the entirety of 2015! To kick off the New Year, Chef Todd made these three incredible jams amidst this holiday season with hopes of keeping the spirit alive.
A little background story: Cuisine has always been Chef’s life. Between working as Executive Chef at some of the Lowcountry’s finest restaurants, and starting his own catering business, his considerable experience shines through his every dish. He understands how to let food speak for itself, understands the importance of finding just the right recipe to harmoneously connect each food group. Whether you’re using his North Carolina Apple Butter a buttermilk biscuit, his Smoked Cranberry Jam on a piece of local fish or his Persimmon Jelly on pumpernickel avocado toast, you’ll experience the unique, fresh taste each one has to offer. His suggestions, however, are in no way limiting; in fact, he encourages expirimentation to find what your taste buds enjoy most! After all, that’s all cooking really is.
It isn’t fair for us to ask this New Year resolution of you if we aren’t willing to commit to it ourselves. For years to come, Salthouse Catering aims to keep the spirit of giving alive and serve you, our customers, to the best of our abilities. Happy 2015 everyone!
