Known for rich history, well-preserved architecture, a celebrated restaurant community and mannerly people, the Charleston area has become one of the world’s top travel and event destinations. Since completing construction in historic downtown Charleston a little over a year ago, the Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Charleston Historic District hotels have already made their presence known in the growing Charleston hotel scene. The completion of the new property ushered in a new era for the city’s revitalized Upper-King Street District, and the hotel’s dedicated team reminds us why the Hyatt brand continues to serve as a hallmark in the hotel industry.
The two hotels share a space near the heart of Upper King Street and sit on the corner of King & Spring streets. While the two adjoining hotels share some amenities, including an indoor pool and 24-hour Guest Market, each offers their own take on the historic Charleston experience. Hyatt Place hotel presents guests with a casual sense of hospitality; offering spacious rooms and a unique styles that is true to the Hyatt brand. The adjacent Hyatt House hotel might feel alittle more like home for extended-stay guests as they offer residentially inspired suites with real kitchens and living rooms. One of the most exciting features of the new property is over 8,500 square feet of flexible meeting space in the hotel’s elegant “Sterling Hall”. The hall overlooks vibrant King Street and is built to accommodate groups of varying size. The space accommodates groups as large as 300, but can easily transform to fit a more intimate group.
