Salthouse Seasonal Flavors

We’re rounding up some of our favorite Seasonal Flavors & how we incorporate local produce into our menus.

Seasonal Succotash

Using fresh ingredients is something we pride ourselves on at Salthouse. So much so that we have TWO succotash recipes that use different ingredients based on the season. Our seasonal succotash makes a great accompaniment to pan seared local fish or roasted chicken dishes. The Spring Summer version of this dish includes black eyed peas, butter beans, edamame, grilled red onions, sunburst squash, zucchini, charred corn, cherry tomatoes, lemon, tarragon and parsley. Not only is it a delicious way to enjoy summer flavors, but it’s also Gluten Free, Vegan & Vegetarian making it the perfect side for everyone to enjoy.

Strawberry Gazpacho

Nothing starts a party the way our passed hors d’oeuvres do! Add a little bit of flare to your event in the Spring & Summer months with our refreshing soup shots. These are served chilled and are sure to leave a lasting impression with your guests. Our Strawberry Gazpacho Soup Shot is full of flavors such as cucumber, tomato, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, lemon juice, and of course, fresh strawberries. A little sweet and a little savory to refresh and delight your palate!

Boiled Peanut Salad

If you’ve ever visited Charleston or have lived here for some time, you know the importance of boiled peanuts. We took this Lowcountry staple and added a Salthouse twist to it. Once we boil the peanut and let them cool in the fridge, we combine them with english peas, oven roasted tomatoes, roasted corn, tarragon, Italian parsley and chives. The most important step is adding the Buttermilk Green Goddess Dressing making it the most delicious and refreshing summer salad. We offer the Boiled Peanut Salad as a side item to a catered dinner. Try it! We promive you’ll love it!
