Salthouse Gives Back

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the spirit of giving is in the air. Here at Salthouse, we’re proud to participate in giving back to our local community all year long through our partnership with Cuisine Rescue!

Founded in early 2022, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit acts as a bridge, taking un-plated, leftover food from local restaurant and catering donors (like us!) and delivering it to area nonprofits that serve food-insecure individuals (a group that makes up 11% of the Lowcountry's total population).

Through culinary partnerships like ours, Cuisine Rescue is able to fulfill their mission of reducing hunger in the South Carolina Lowcountry while also reducing the wasting consumable food. Since beginning operation, they’ve already performed 580 Food Rescues and redistributed over 58,000 pounds of leftover food!
